Not much later on February 10, 1943 there were 2 trucks at the Geldersekade. The children and staff had to board from the Germans. No questions were asked. It was all pretty ‘relaxed’ too. From there they were taken to a train at Amsterdam Central Station.

Westerbork (transit camp). Trains went from Westerbork to Auschwitz and Sobibor and other concentration camps.

The children of the orphanage were already on the train. Bennie and Lien were also on the train with their belongings. The atmosphere was pretty good. There was no fear.
